PhotographyBLOGThe “S” in Nikon Coolpix S6 stands for “Style”, and this camera certainly delivers on that promise. The Nikon S6 is one of the most distinctive point and shoot compact cameras on the market today, with an overall style that is subtle yet pleasing. |

PhotexelsIf you already have Wi-Fi capability in your desktop or laptop, and looking for an easy-to-use point-and-shoot compact and stylish digital camera, the Nikon Coolpix S6 will appeal to you with its overall good to very good image quality and its many practical features. |

Imaging ResourceSmall digicams are not famous for their image quality. The Nikon Coolpix S6 starts from that premise but taps into some smart electronics to compensate for the compromises. As a result, the Coolpix S6 is as attractive for its image quality as it is for its styling. |

PC AdvisorStylish and equipped with Wi-Fi features, the S6 is a very decent camera. The display and selector dial are nice additions, although more contrast and saturation controls would have been welcome. |

vnunet.comThe Coolpix S6 successfully combines style with useful creative features that help to improve your photography. It’s lacking enthusiast features such as manual controls but takes great photos. |

Megapixel.netPositives: Elegant and slim design. Good overall image quality. Excellent 3-inch LCD monitor. Good macro capability. WiFi capable. Includes Cool-Station. Effectively noise-free at 50 and 100 ISO. Negatives: Little space for controls, making camera operation occasionally difficult. No compression options for resolutions less than 6 megapixel. Compression a bit too strong. Flash underpowered. Monitor can become difficult to see clearly outdoors. |

TechgageThe camera is a small form factor for a specific reason, so I am not going to hold that against it. The picture quality is not as good as previous cameras we’ve reviewed, but that comes with the territory of being a smaller camera. |

Digital Camera MagazineNikon have gone all out on stylish design the S6 is sexy and sharp. The S6 offers a huge amount for the casual snapper: intuitive click-wheel navigation, stylish construction and a large screen. Wi-Ficonnectivity might be a gimmick, but we love it anyway. It’s just a shame the lens doesn’t quite match the rest of the package. |

Digital Photography InterfaceThis camera is a great one for point-and-shoot group snaps but not at night or for sports. I would recommend the Nikon Coolpix S6 for the above use but I think the Sony T30 is a better deal. |

Steve's DigicamsThe Coolpix S6 has a lot of appeal to those wanting ease of use and good image quality in a very small stylish package. But it suffers from low flash output and sometimes selects a low shutter speed that results in images blurred by camera shake. |

PC WorldMy photos looked colorful and sharp—pleasing for the most part. The PC World Test Center gave the S6 an overall image-quality score of Good. The camera’s marks for color fidelity and exposure accuracy were a bit above average, but it scored slightly below average for sharpness. |

CNETThe Nikon Coolpix S6 is a stylish performer with a handy control wheel, but its Wi-Fi implementation feels almost like an afterthought. |

Digital Camera Resource PageOverall I was a bit disappointed with the Coolpix S6. Sure, it looks cool, and some of the features are really handy. But the bottom line is that photo quality is not as good as other ultra-compacts, and it has more flaws to boot. I’d probably skip the S6 and look at one of the cameras listed below instead. |

Techtree.comI’d say it’s a decent camera with really easy functions. This is the most ideal for point and shoot enthusiasts who want a bit more than just capture frames from life. We strongly advise users to try out a few options before settling down on any single camera. |

PC MagThe Coolpix S6 digital camera is slim and hip, but it may have more style than substance. |

Digicam ReviewOverall image quality is very hit and miss, one photo will come out looking great, (particularly macro photos), whereas another photo will come out looking awful (the worst photos were left out of the gallery). If image quality was up there with the rest of the cameras features and abilities then this would be recommended, however, as it stands with image quality so hit and miss, it’s very difficult to recommend this camera. |

GadgetCentreThe Coolpix S6 is well suited to someone who is less interested in smart features and new tricks, preferring instead to go for a compact camera that takes decent pics and gets on with it. In general photography terms Nikon sets a high standard as usual, but in this digital age there need to more going on to make a product stand out from the crowd. |

NeoCamera.comThe Nikon Coolpix S6 suffers in terms of both image quality and ergonomics. Even though it is expected that ultra-compact cameras can lag in image quality, the S6 is outclassed by most its competitors. |
