The Gadgeteer (95)

I love this phone. Its thin, its light, its feature-full, and does its primary job better than my previous phone – the XDA II. The battery life seems good. Reception is great. The UI is great in most areas. The LCD screen on both the inside and outside is fantastic.

Myriad features are packed into this stunning piece of industrial design, and a rich list of bundled extras only sweetens the deal.

Ultimately, the Razr V3 isn’t about bells and whistles. It’s about turning heads when you’re using it and disappearing in your pocket when you’re not. And it passes both tests with flying colors.

The Star Online (90)

Overall, what Motorola has delivered with the V3 is a high-grade mobile phone that not only emphasises style but is also backed by great features. This makes it attractive to those who don’t necessarily fall into the V3’s “target” audience comprising fashionistas, jetsetters, and high-flying professionals.

PROS: Stunning design. Feels beautifully engineered. Lots of features. CONS: Crappy, frustrating menu system.

Over the past 24 months or so, few newly launched devices have elicited as many “Ooohs” and “Ahhhs” as Motorola’s aptly named RAZR V3. And rightly so. The RAZR lives up to its name, sporting one of the thinnest profiles of any phone on the market – let alone any other clamshell phone. In fact, the bottom half of the RAZR, where the keypad and battery reside, is a mere 8mm (.31”) thick.

But you probably won’t buy the Motorola V3 Razr for any of those real reasons instead your gadget heart will, mainly because it it looks fantastic in fact it looks like something a modern James T Kirk would use when within reach of one of earths GSM networks and at well under 100 grams and 14mm thick it makes a stunning impression on everyone who sees it and then those who hold a V3 Razr won’t put it down.

Summing up, we can say the following: the model is very convenient in every day usage. It is flat and you can wear it everywhere you want.

JiWire (82)

The Motorola Razr V3 is a delightful phone to hold and use. It’s a head-turner for sure, but it’s also a great companion while you’re on the go. Where it falls short is in high-end smarphone features: if you need a powerful PIM and email workhorse, you won’t find it here.

Overall, this phone is still a buy if you are looking for a real sleek looking phone now that prices are dropping. It can satisfy all of the average user’s needs and I would describe it as “beautiful and basic.”

Overall the Razr V3 is a stunning mobile phone. Slim and metallic, the whole handset presentation screams of futuristic minimalism while harking back to the childhood sci-fi of audience it’s aimed at.

SLCentral (80)

This phone gives probably one of the best examples of form over function. The price of this phone is solely because of its razor thin design, and nothing else. While it does have some nice features, phones that you can get for free with a new contract probably can compete.

The Razor clearly isn’t for everyone. But it’s a great balance of form and function that I hope will inspire slimmer and sleeker phones at lower prices.

Chances are, you’re reading this because you like the way the phone looks and the attention it commands, and in that sense – the phone will give you all the clean-shaven attention you crave for. But if you’re looking to impress with “cutting-edge technology” and “unstoppable functionality”, the Razr leaves a stubble.

It doesn’t matter how many great features it has (not that it has anything fancy or exciting to brag about!) To have a learning curve that’s long and steep is simply going to bring greater frustration and agony to its user – especially for a device that, in this day and age, does more than just offer voice communications.

Mobile Phones UK (60)

The V3 is a great phone, designed primarily for its looks, but with a pretty good specification too. As always with this type of phone, the functionality is reduced because of the phone’s size, but it has a reasonably good feature set.
