The Kodak Easyshare C875 provides excellent value for a compact digital camera. Most importantly the Kodak C875 produces very nice images with saturated colors, excellent sharpness, good exposure and below average image noise. Even ISO 400 can be used for mid-sized prints. It is also quite full-featured, except for the omission of a custom white-balance function.

Bottom line – The Kodak EasyShare C875 offers good high-end features for a reasonably low price of $199 or less, yet remains easy to use and handle. While bypassing a lot a gimmick features, and still providing solid exposure and lens controls. I found this model to be an easy fit for my hand while offering good overall shooting performance, great image quality, and loads of user-friendly exposure modes. The C875 is a great choice for anyone seeking a balance between features, image quality, and a fair price.

If you want a compact camera with more zoom power than most entry-level cameras, an easy-to-use interface, and both automatic and manual controls then you’ll want to take a close look at the Kodak EasyShare C875. Priced at just $200, it’s an incredible value for the money, whether you’re just starting out, or upgrading from an older camera.

Imaging Resource (82)

The Kodak C875 was also a bit slow to operate, which might frustrate anyone who’s used a faster model. If you’re a beginning photographer, though, you might be happy with this easy-to-use camera and its generally good quality images. We’ll wait until the final review to decide whether it’s a Dave’s Pick.

Although the EasyShare C875 is a bit slow and clunky at times, and rather large and heavy for a pocket compact, you’d have a hard job finding a more versatile camera for the same price. Poor low light focusing and flash performance limit its usefulness in social situations, but overall image quality and especially high-ISO performance are very good.

The C875 is an easy-to-use camera that will bring 8 mega-pixel capability to a wide range of users. It certainly made my photographic skills appear better than expected. The C875 has been priced at £199.99 but you should be able to find this camera at a reasonable discount by shopping around.

For this price, the Kodak C875 is a great bargain. It isn’t as good as some of the high end advanced units from Canon or Olympus, but it more than does the job and offers a well rounded package that will satisfy a wide variety of users.

Digital Camera Review (80)

When it comes down to it, the Kodak Easyshare C875 is a good camera, but facing some stiff competition. Image quality was very good, ease of use was good and it has a good feature set. Where it falters is battery life and speed of operation. Its operation speed is by no means slow, but it’s just not as fast as similarly priced competitors like the Canon A540 or A700.

The Kodak EasyShare C875 is a good, inexpensive camera. First-time digital photographers will find it easy to learn on, and its more advanced features will give them room to grow over time.

The Kodak Easyshare C875 offers a very good set of features for a compact digital camera. This includes fully manual exposure modes. Picture quality is good and one outstanding feature is the very fast shutter response times it is capable of.

Digital Photography Review (74)

If you can live with the slightly sluggish focus, that awful over-the-top noise reduction at higher ISO settings, and the rather lame screen – and don’t intend to produce huge prints – the C875 offers an awful lot of bang for your buck, and for this reason it just manages to sneak into our ‘Recommended’ category.

Overall, the C875 (slated as an entry level camera) comes as a decent performer with easy-to-use controls and options. I’m sure it will be a hit with first timers at least.
