The F20 has much in common with Sony’s DSC-W30. It’s not quite as fast or as compact, but image quality is even better, making it thoroughly deserving of a Best Buy award.

Offering better value than the acclaimed F30 – plus boasting higher maximum ISO than most of us will need from a point-and-shoot – the F20 manages the rare trick of matching performance and build to price

To sum up, a recommendation and certainly one of the most successful marriages of price to performance I’ve seen in recent months. It’s well built, feels sturdy enough to withstand a few knocks and suggests itself as another reliable option for a back up point-and-shoot camera on those occasions when taking a consumer-level DSLR out is both impractical and inadvisable.

Steve's Digicams (88)

Bottom line – I was a bit surprised that Fuji only changed a few of the features from last year’s F30 model but was reminded of the old saying that “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” That seems to be their thinking with their “F” series of 6- megapixel Super CCD HR models. That said, I feel the FujiFilm FinePix F20 is a nice, compact digicam that offers good performance, a durable all-metal body, great image quality, and numerous user-friendly exposure modes.

The Fujifilm FinePix F20 has obviously been built on a budget, with a poor screen and a very limited amount of memory. But it’s still a nice camera if you’re on a budget too. The F20 is a good choice if you’re looking for a simple to use, straightforward camera with reasonable resolution.

The Fuji Finepix F20 strikes me as a good, solid camera. I was impressed by the picture quality and the camera was able to take sharp photos in all my tests. In this area it manages to outperform the majority of its rivals. It has an unfussy, but attractive design and offers good value for money.

Slimmed-down version of the FinePix F30 is great for everyday use

If you like shooting pictures in dark conditions or perhaps at dusk the high ISO will help you out no end. It’s the winning factor on the F20 because this is a feature that is usually only found on high-end digital cameras. This is a neat, compact digital camera that takes great pictures.
