Perhaps a general comment about cameras like the EX-Z850: they are so useful, so powerful, and so easy to carry around that many people do just that, they take them along wherever they go. The Casio can handle that and it never failed, but its solid, gleaming body does show a bit of wear and tear. It fell twice, just from a few inches, but that was enough each time to leave small scratches and dents.

The Casio EX Z850 digital camera is heavily marketed as an eBay digital camera, as it features an “eBay Best Shot” shooting mode. There is much more to this 8.1-megapixel compact digital camera, though. It is slim and stylish, features an oversized LCD screen, an anti-shake system and a whopping 34 shooting modes.

This is a more than capable camera which should give years of great service – even when technology in 2010 will make us snicker at the “mere” 8MP of this model. The Casio Exilim EX-Z850 has my highest recommendation for this class of camera!

I bought one of these for myself and carry it everywhere. It’s tiny, light, nimble, agile, easy to use and makes great images. I prefer it to anything similar from Canon because it handles faster. I prefer it to Nikon compacts because the Nikons have menus I can’t understand. I love it. Just get one and have a ball. The resolution is the same as my SLRs. Huge enlargements look great.

Casio’s EXilim EX-Z850 will make a great choice for anyone who wants or needs an “ultra- compact” model with loads of useful scene modes, 8-megapixels of resolution, and robust performance, all for a reasonable price. With the 8m Fine images, you’ll have plenty of resolution to create poster size prints, or photo-lab quality 13×19-inch prints of a cropped image.

It’s a capable performer, and a camera that I can recommend to just about everyone, save for those people who take a lot of night scenes. It’s beautifully made, fast, has a stunning screen and is really enjoyable in use.
