We had to fight hard to find anything to criticise about this camera: if you want a beautiful, high-quality compact then buy the IXUS 60.

IT Reviews (88)

Apart from the irrelevant viewfinder, there isn’t a single feature on this slim and elegant camera that doesn’t have a multiplicity of functions that can be called into play for the more discerning snapper, whilst still appealing to the lazy point-and-shooter. It’s an impressive package.

Lightweight and feature packed, the fashionable Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH can easily slip into a pocket or purse, making it the perfect on-the-go digital camera. It offers a nice combination of features and performance in a stylish, portable package. If you are looking for an ultra-compact camera that captures great images to take with you anywhere you may roam, this is it.

Let's Go Digital (86)

The camera meets all expectations. The Canon Digital IXUS 60 is of a compact size, has been neatly and attractively finished and has an excellent image quality. The possibilities and options offered are extensive, and might prove for some users to be the start of a more active interest in the creative side of the world of digital photography. The Canon IXUS 60 is a trendy digital camera, but also one that keeps a keen eye on quality.

Imaging Resource (85)

As I’ve said before in this review, if you want a slightly snazzier looking Digital ELPH with a larger screen, spend the extra $50 and buy the SD630 which has a 3-inch screen compared to the SD600’s 2.5-inch display. These minor quibbles shouldn’t prevent you from considering the SD600 though, which is an excellent camera in its own right, and deserving of a Dave’s Pick.

Digital Photography Interface (85)

The Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH is a great go-anywhere camera which took the SD450 and made everything better. Overall, the Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH receives a thumbs up from me. It’s a good performer in practically everything except battery life and manual controls.

The Canon IXUS 60 is a well made digital camera and take a great photo. It is certainly one of the best pocket sized cameras on the market. Images are sharp and colours are strong. The only real drawback I can come up with is I would like to have see a quicker shutter response.

Bottom line – The Canon PowerShot SD600 is a welcomed addition to this awesome ultra-compact line. Not only can this model be carried in any size pocket, it’s ready to capture that special moment in an instant with such robust performance.

Good Gear Guide (70)

Canon’s IXUS 60 is a competant compact camera. It has all the elements you’d expect from such a product, including above average image quality, a decent set of features and a slim design. While you won’t be blown away by its performance, colour reproduction is excellent and if you’re looking for a basic point and shoot then this model should be a consideration.
