Apart from the irrelevant viewfinder, there isn’t a single feature on this slim and elegant camera that doesn’t have a multiplicity of functions that can be called into play for the more discerning snapper, whilst still appealing to the lazy point-and-shooter. It’s an impressive package.

The Canon IXUS 60 is a trendy digital camera, but also one that keeps a keen eye on quality.

As I’ve said before in this review, if you want a slightly snazzier looking Digital ELPH with a larger screen, spend the extra $50 and buy the SD630 which has a 3-inch screen compared to the SD600’s 2.5-inch display. These minor quibbles shouldn’t prevent you from considering the SD600 though, which is an excellent camera in its own right, and deserving of a Dave’s Pick.

The Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH is a great go-anywhere camera which took the SD450 and made everything better. Overall, the Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH receives a thumbs up from me. It’s a good performer in practically everything except battery life and manual controls.

The Canon IXUS 60 is a well made digital camera and take a great photo. It is certainly one of the best pocket sized cameras on the market. Images are sharp and colours are strong. The only real drawback I can come up with is I would like to have see a quicker shutter response.
