The simple to use Kodak EasyShare C743 zoom digital camera provides remarkable features at a reasonable price. You’ll bring details to life with 7.1-megapixel resolution. And the C743 has a 3x optical zoom lens and a huge 2.4-inch color display, proving that impressive doesn’t always need to be expensive.

PC WorldAt this low price, though, you have to accept a few imperfections. The camera body feels chintzy, the printed user manual is basic and lacks a table of contents and an index, and features are minimal. You won’t find things that are available on some pricier point-and-shoot cameras, such as image stabilization, manual controls, and a panorama mode. |

Imaging ResourceI found the Kodak C743’s imaging quality mediocre at best, especially in anything but good outdoor sunlit conditions. Though noise levels were better than I expected, many shots I took in low light were blurry. The camera’s underpowered flash was not a lot of help either, often failing to illuminate a scene even in a slightly overcast setting. I was also frustrated by frequent overexposure problems in pictures taken in high contrast conditions. |

CNETWith so many better choices for budget cameras available, pass on the bulky, noisy Kodak EasyShare C743. |
